Usage

1. Acts as a protective cover for lacerations, abrasions, and newly sutured wounds.
2. Used as a dressing for minor and partial-thickness burns.
3. Serves as a dressing for skin graft recipient sites and donor sites.
4. Can be used as an initial layer for surgical wounds with light exudate.

Instructions for use

1. Clean the wound with saline and the wound edge skin shall be wiped dry.
2. Open the sterile packaging, peel back the foil, and place the Xeroform dressing directly on the wound.
3. Cover the Xeroform with a secondary dressing, such as dry gauze or an island dressing, and secure it with tape or a bandage. Avoid placing tape directly on the skin if possible.
4. The dressing should be changed regularly to keep it moist and prevent it from sticking.

Precautions

1. Do not use on infected wounds or wounds with heavy drainage, as this can trap bacteria and lead to maceration.
2. Do not use on patients with a known allergy or sensitivity to petroleum or Bismuth Tribromophenate.
3. Use with caution on patients with a history of atopy (a predisposition to allergic hypersensitivity).
4. Contact a healthcare provider immediately if you notice increased redness, swelling, warmth, fluid buildup under the dressing, a bad smell, increasing pain, chills, or fever.
