NPWT Silicone Kit Specification

1. Chronic Wounds: Pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, venous/arterial leg ulcers.

2. Acute Wounds: Traumatic injuries (lacerations, degloving), large burns, post-surgical wounds, skin grafts.

3. Wound Environment Control: Managing excessive drainage (exudate), reducing bacterial load, controlling odor.

4. Wound Preparation: Reducing wound size/edema for better closure (grafting or surgical).

5. Securing Grafts: Holding skin grafts in place to prevent maceration.

1. Clean the wound with saline and the wound edge skin shall be wiped dry.

2. Cut the appropriate black foam size according to the size of the wound and put it in wound.

3. Open the sterile packaging, peel release paper, and place pu film drape to cover black foam and fix it in skin.

4. Make a small cut in pu film of the center of black foam.

5. Peel off release paper of suction pad and fix suction pad in cut of pu film.

6. Attach the drainage port/tube to the dressing and the therapy unit (pump).

7. Turn on the device and set the prescribed negative pressure (e.g., continuous or intermittent). 

1. Bleeding/Hemorrhage: Can occur, especially with exposed vessels or in patients on anticoagulants.

2. Infection: Risk, especially if the wound bed has necrotic tissue or infection is present; debridement is often needed.

3. Tissue Erosion/Damage: Risk with exposed vital structures (organs, vessels, bone) or improper application.

4. Fistulas: Risk of bowel perforation with non-enteric fistulas or exposed organs.

5. Pain: Especially during dressing changes or if suction is too high.

6. Do NOT overpack foam: Can disrupt pressure and cause exudate buildup.

7. Maceration: Softening of surrounding skin from exudate or poor sealing.
