Uses |
1. Fix wound dressings. 2. Absorb drainage from surgical or traumatic wounds. 3. Apply mild pressure to reduce swelling.
4. Protect cuts, scrapes, burns and surgical sites.
5. Apply mild pressure to support injured limbs or joints.

How to apply a gauze roll (steps): 1. Clean the wound
Wash your hands and put on gloves if you have them.
Clean the wound with saline or antiseptic solution.
Pat dry with a sterile gauze pad.
2. Apply a primary dressing (if needed)
Apply a sterile non-stick gauze pad or medicated dressing directly to the wound.
This will prevent the gauze roll from sticking to the wound.
3. Start bandaging the gauze roll
Start bandaging below the wound.
Overlap each layer of gauze by about 1/2 to 2/3 of the width.
Make sure the bandage is secure but not tight to maintain blood circulation.
4. Secure the gauze ends
Secure the gauze with medical tape, clips, or self-adhesive gauze ends.
Make sure the gauze is fixed in place but easy to remove later.

Precautions |
1. Avoid wrapping too tightly to prevent blood flow. 2. Check for signs of impaired circulation: numbness, discoloration, or cool skin. 3. Change the gauze as recommended by your healthcare provider or if it becomes soiled. 4. Store unused gauze rolls in a dry, clean place. |
